WOW. What a surprise when we woke this morning. The world outside had been turned into a Winter Wonderland. It is still snowing and must have been snowing for most of last night. It is so strange because the outside world is so silent. One cannot even hear the cars as they drive by. It is all so very different from anything I have ever experienced before. I am so glad that I have been able to have this experience although I suppose that when I have to drive later this morning I might regret this statement. It will all be very new and maybe even rather scary but we will see. I put my hand out of the window and the snow flake that landed on my arm was like a little snowball. I now realize that the previous snow falls must have just been what they call "flurries" rather than genuine snow. I can't wait to get outside and walk in the back garden. What a joy! We will have to put out lots of bread for the poor birds.
