50. Alone with Owen in Holland

We have been given the awesome responsibility of looking after Owen while Wendy and Brendon are away for 5 days. What a privilege and joy this is. Owen is a delight and such a good little man. He can entertain himself for ages but also loves it when Granny or Grandpa get down on the floor with him. He climbs all over us and we get lovely hugs and kisses. Grandpa takes him for long or short walks depending on the weather and he loves those because Grandpa goes fast. If Granny is with them on the walk it is more leisurely enjoyed and he loves the animals (dogs and cats)and plants that we see on the way. Is loves his meals that Wendy prepared before she left and put in the freezer so granny has a very easy time in the kitchen. We have stuck to his routine as far as possible and so getting him to bed is a breeze. Once he is in his cot with his dummy and Mickey Big Ears we don't hear him again till he wakes up and this is usually and hour and a half later for the daytime sleeps. This gives Granny time to do her reading and computer work without his little hands trying to give his input. This morning he woke at 7h00 so Granny got all the sleep she needed for the fun day ahead. We are so blessed to have this quality time with him and it brings back memories of similar times we enjoyed with Rachel at the same age. we look forward to Evangeline's visit in April so we can enjoy some quality time with her too.
