Day two in the USA: Viv's Birthday

I was awake rather early yesterday so the Blog post could be done earlier than today's post because today I slept later. The big 70 year Birthday Celebration started with a yummy breakfast.

Viv was happy with the gift I had brought, so a Big THANK YOU to all who had helped me with the problem I had as to what to get.

After a lazy day of chatting and watching TV I decided to have a shower proud that I had managed to get through the day without needing a nap. After the shower I decided to lie down and read before we needed to go to the Fazio's for the evening celebration. Big mistake. You guessed right. I fell asleep and had to be woken when it was time to go.
The meal was Chinese and so delicious that I was glad my appetite had returned and I could enjoy a selection of all that had been provided.
I even managed a "Fortune cookie". first one I had ever had. Just goes to show you are never too old to try something new.
I was not too popular when I did the rounds with my camera telling everyone to stop chewing so I could get a picture.
Jennie was the only one who used the the special implements provided.

My last Blog post had not included a picture of Sammy's Cat so that had to be rectified in order for me not to be in trouble again.

The dog had to be part of the party as we relaxed after the meal.

The cake was an Ice Cream cake from Carvell which was delicious. I can't remember when last I had Carvell Icecream. Steve had wanted to use a blow torch to light the candles but Terri managed to win the battle so the cake was saved.
Of course no get together was ever complete without the group shots.
I was not too successful with one taken during the singing of Happy Birthday.
Viv was so happy to have some of her grandchildren with her for the celebration.

During the meal we had the chance to speak to Sharon and family in Australia, quite a feat because of all the different time zones. We also spoke to Samantha who works in California so I could promise to include a picture of her cat this time. Technology is wonderful when it works, and it did do so yesterday.

I am so pleased that you all enjoy the Blog posts. Thanks for your emails even the ones that point out what is missing. (I have included one of me this time Vera.)
