To make matters even more exciting, it was a stop every station train so there were always people wanting to join the crowd with very few wanting to leave the train.
Eventually we arrive at Flinders street station. The escalators were packed which should have indicated to us that we were in for a very crowded parade.
There were several different bands so it was very noisy.
Eventually we had had enough so decided to catch the train back again as we knew that everyone else would have the same idea, namely find a place to have some lunch.
Fortunately the train ride back was much more comfortable as there were fewer passengers so before we knew it were were home again and able to enjoy our lunch in peace. A wonderful yet rather exhausting experience to fill my memory bank.
