Other sights were also enjoyed and it was fascinating to notice that marble was being washed and golden sections of buildings and statues had been given a new look.
The preparations for the concert to be held in from of the palace was in full swing and when we saw the speakers in the one park, I was glad we had gone today and not when the concert was in full swing.

| Douglas would love to go on this vehicle but it is far too low in the water for my liking so he will have to wait till he can go with someone else. |

| As usual the fire brigade was in evidence as was several Police vehicles. |
We also had a chance to watch some of the bands and soldiers rehearsing for the march past that will be part of the celebrations.
