Driving home after taking Douglas to his meeting at the church, I was thinking about these long days of Summer and how glad I am that it is light for so long after the long dark days of Winter. It has been raining most of today and we are glad as we have been declared a drought area so the rain has brought some relief. There are still clouds in the sky with a promise of more rain to come but as I came round the corner near our house I saw the beautiful rainbow in the sky. A gentle reminder that God is with us and watching over us. As we have just experienced the longest day of the year, I suppose we must now get ready for the days to become shorter and the darkness to descend once more but the reminder of His presence will keep us strong and we will survive even if we prefer these days of light.
