106. Our first experience of Car Boots Sales

Today we had a Harvest Festival in Stoke Ferry. This was well attended with a good display of Harvest Produce and we enjoyed a lovely time of fellowship and refreshments after the service.
On our way home we had to pass through Wereham where we noticed a Car Boot Sale in progress. We had never been to one so decided to make a detour and see what it was all about.
As well as all the cars with their display of good for sale, we found the usual ice cream van as well as some pony rides. We decided that we had spent enough but never the less bought some Fish and Chips for our lunch before heading for home so I could see the Grand Prix on the TV.
Once home we got the message that Brendon, Wendy and Owen had arrived safely in Holland and once again a miracle needs to be recorded as they each had their own seat so could get a fair nights sleep. God is good.

105. A visitor from South Africa

On Friday a friend, Duncan Greaves, from South Africa arrived for a short visit. We had such a good time showing him the area and decided to have lunch at the church's Social Center. When we arrived there we discovered that they had been without electricity since 09h15 in the morning. We thought we were back in KZN but while chatting the lights came on so it was decided that they would still provide the dinner but we could come back later.
Yesterday we went to Sandringham after a drive through some of the villages to look at a few of the chapels in our area. We wandered around the house then walked through a section of the gardens to the old stables that had been converted into a museum. I especially enjoyed seeing all the old cars and ones made especially for Prince Charles. having been through the gardens I could just imagine the fun the Royal children had racing down the paths. We returned to the entrance gate using the Land Train provided. We ended the visit by going through the beautiful little Church where the Queen and her family attend the Christmas Day service most years.
After lunch at the Visitors' Center and with Douglas having bought a box of Apple Juice, we went on to Ely to return Duncan to his family there.

104. Back to Douglas in the UK.

Once again I have been on the move. After several trips to Eshowe and some tragic events it was decided that I needed to return to the UK. I had aggravated an old injury that seemed to respond well to an injection of Voltarin but when a week later I twisted my body while holding Owen, the injury decided to make itself known with avengance. To cut a long story short, it was so painful that I was unable to walk without assistance and even after 4 injections as well as Voltarin tablets it still was not 100%, it was decided by all that I needed to go back to the UK where I could rest up and heal as it seemed that resting did help. I must say I found this all very difficult as I felt that I was leaving a sinking ship but did realize that in my condition that I could offer little help and that Wendy and Brendon were worried about me and they had enough on their plates without the added stress that I might injury myself some more. The fact that Brendon had flown in from the USA and so would be there to help and support Wendy as well as the fact that I was missing Douglas not having every having to be separated from him for such a long time since our marriage, made me decide to submit and return to the UK.
Brendon very kindly organised wheelchair assistance and as the flights were all business class it was clear that I would manage the long trip back. I left the house at 10h15 on Saturday and started the journey to Joberg then on to Paris and from there to Amsterdam and finally to Norwich. I enjoyed the luxury of the business class lounges and even managed to talk to Douglas on Skype so all in all the trip was good but rather exhausting. One of the congregation had brought Douglas to the airport to meet me so the trip home was a time of catching up on news. He even carried my big suitcase upstairs so Douglas would not have to do so. That sure is going the extra mile and we are so blessed to have such caring folk in our community.
My children have been great and it was a joy to see Evangeline walk and Owen and Rachel have such good fun together. It is so true that out of bad there is always some good. My companion in the seat next to me on the trip from Joberg to Paris was a delight and said that she was sure that God had sent me to give her encouragement as she was going through a bad patch. God uses us in so many different ways if we are only willing to listen to his voice prompting us.
I am in some pain as I sit here but I am sure that it is only because I have overdone things so will rest up for the rest of the day. Maybe catch up on some blogs that are long overdue.
