61. 150 years of Service

Yesterday it was Mothering Sunday and at the service at Southery each Mom was presented with a lovely pot plant. Although there were fewer people, because many were being treated away from their homes for Mother's day, never the less those there enjoyed a wonderful time of Prayer and Praise and listening to the word.
In the evening The London Road Methodist Chapel celebrated 150 years of service. We joined them for the Tea (Supper) and the service afterwards. I was so happy that Andrew had offered to give us a lift as I do not like the two round-abouts that one has to negotiate in order to get to the centre of Kings Lynn. We had a lovely time of Fellowship during the meal and of course ate too much. The service was lovely and the message delivered by the President Designate (in coming President of Conference), David Gamble, was inspiring and challenging. The service ended with Holy Communion and Douglas as well as Andrew helped distribute the elements. After the service refreshments were served and the delicious celebration cake was enjoyed. I must say it was good to taste a rich fruit cake again. When we got home we ended the evening by watching Songs of Praise sung by different Junior School Choirs and the Dancing on Ice Final with Torval and Dean who also participated.
