Since I arrived at the end of November, I have experienced many different snow days. At times the snow was light and fluffy, at times it was wet and heavy but always it was very beautiful.
This morning was no exception. It was still snowing when I woke up and this continued until lunch time when it stopped for a while and I had a chance to go outside and do some shovelling. This month has seen snow days every week and the days in between have been very cold and as a result the snow has not been able to melt but has instead frozen.
In the parking areas around the shopping malls, the snow ploughs have created massive snow dunes and these have now frozen and every time we have a new snow fall they grow bigger and bigger.
In our parking area here we also have our own frozen snow dune created by the snow ploughs in action here.
We have been told that we can expect another severe snow storm tonight and for this reason I decided to clear the snow on my sister's car so that it did not freeze and then be covered by a fresh lot of snow tonight.(This us still a novelty for me)
I first had to clear a path so that I could get close enough to the car to start clearing the snow on the car.
I then alternated between clearing the car and clearing the path around the vehicle. Fortunately the snow was easy to move off the car as it was light and fluffy but the path was a different story.
The snow plough had done the road during the storm but this was soon covered again by fresh snow.
I kept hitting the ice that was underneath. This was in the areas where it had remained after previous snow falls. It was not easy to see where the new snow was as it was quite deep and so was almost level with the other areas.
