A Busy day Part Three: Evening

The Daddy drove the Granny and the Cherubs home through peak hour traffic. Once home we had baths and then it was into bed for the Cherubs. They were asleep within 5 minutes so the Granny had a chance to watch her TV programme (Holby City) and then also go to bed.

Meanwhile the Daddy had returned to the beach front to join the Mommy at a very special concert in the Amphitheater  Johnny Clegg was in town!!!!

The Mommy had borrowed the Granny's Camera because her camera battery had died so the bonus was that the Granny had some pictures for her blog without having to be exposed to the noise of the concert. (Granny is getting too old).

The Daddy and the Mommy returned home having enjoyed their evening out. Fortunately they were in two cars as the Daddy had to deal with a medical situation on his way home. His work is always in contact with him where every he goes.

A Busy day Part Two: The Afternoon

The Daddy had to go to work in the afternoon but was due home early.... This never happened because there was a major incident that required his attention so the Mommy took the Granny and the Cherubs to the African Festival at the beach front.
It was very colourful and very noisy but the Cherubs loved playing the drums and seeing all that there was to see.

Erin loved the little huts.

The Mommy braved the stage with the Cherubs so that they could be instructed how to play African drums.
After Erin had some face painting done and Owen and the Granny visited the South African stall, the Daddy managed to join us for supper at a special restaurant and then he drove the Granny and the Cherubs home while the Mommy waited to buy tickets for a very special show later that evening.

A Busy Day Part One: Morning

Yesterday was a rather busy day. Brendon had taken the morning off to have some quality time with the Cherubs and the Granny so we were kept entertained.

The Granny needed some visa photos taken because she is staying so long in Doha that she needs to have a medical and an extension to her initial 30 day visa so we piled into the car and headed for one of the Malls to have the photos taken.

We had a most enjoyable morning. After the photo shoot Owen opted for a frozen yogurt and Erin decided she would rather have a muffin while the Daddy and the Granny had their coffee.

After the refreshment break we moved over to the Games area in the Mall where the Cherubs enjoyed some of the rides while the Granny watched and took pictures.

The Daddy had to field work calls but managed to enjoy the Merry go Round ride.

After the rides we headed for home via many distractions along the way.

Another early morning activity

Ever on the look out for activities in the early morning, while it is still cool, we decided to visit one of the local parks. Having braved the early morning rush hour traffic, we arrived to find the park nearly deserted. The cherubs had their scooters and Granny had her chair so we were ready for action.

While the Granny enjoyed the peace and quiet in the shade of a tree, the Mommy played with the little ones.

They ran around trying all the equipment.

 Climbing was very popular.
Erin has always loved slides and here there were many to choose from.
At times they even managed to play together.
Every now and then they came to check up on the Granny and to have a welcome drink of water.
Then it was back to running and climbing again. They seem to have an endless supply of energy.

Off to the Souq

We are always on the look out for cool outdoor activities early in the morning as it soon gets too hot to be outside.

Yesterday we decided to go to the Souq (Market) and have a walk about. We did this when Douglas and I visited at the end of last year so of course memories came flooding back again. We saw the camels again because that is where we have to park the car.

Although we had been there last year we decided to go into the Art Gallery again because there we could enjoy the air conditioned environment before going out into the heat again.

We also passed that special green bench again.

We wandered down lanes where we had never been before and the colours and smells were all rather overpowering at times but it was a good experience.

The security guards were out on parade and it was fun to see them in traditional clothes riding on beautiful horses but talking on their mobile phones too.

The children loved the birds and other animals in cages but the smells were overpowering and I did not like to see kittens and puppies in cages outside in the sun. It is a different world.

After all the walking about we popped into a restaurant where we had some very yummy cheese snacks and fresh lemonade before heading for home and indoor activities again.
