Flower Festival at Stow Bridge, St Peters

On Saturday after we had said good bye to our visitors we decided to go to one of my favourite chapels to see the flowers on display there. As we went through the village we noticed that the whole village seemed to be having a yard sale. Apparantly the money for each table also went to St Peters. We parked out in the street and enjoyed the walk to the church as it had been very hot in the car. The flowers were fantastic and after going through the church we headed outside where they had some sales tables. We bought muffins for the ride home. We decided to go home on a different route as driving through the village with all the yard sales in progress had been rather hectic with cars and people everywhere.

World Cup Fever in Downham Market

The Fever has spread and is now in Downham Market. As you drive down the roads all you can see are England flags flying. Car are adorned with flags as are buildings and homes and advertisements are every where to see the World Cup Live! Brendon came back from SA with a Vuvuzela for us and as our one neighbour is Football Mad we decided to give it to him as a present. He was thrilled but I think we are not his wife's favourite people at the moment. Yesterday he proudly informed us that he was the first person in the UK to have the Vuvuzela. He told us how proud he was when he was able to tell his brother that he already had one when the brother told him to buy one of the local papers as they were giving Vuvuzelas with every copy of the paper bought. We have checked these out and they are not the genuine article as they come in two parts and need to be assembled before they can be used. I must say I am not looking forward to the start of the matches as the noise levels have already risen and one cannot imagine what they will be like when the matches start. I do hope that England win their first match as there is so much support here it would be a pity if the fans are let down.
