Spring in Downham Market

I have returned and was thrilled to see that Spring had also arrived in Downham Market. On our way to post off our applications for an extension of our visas, we saw the most beautiful display of blossoms and some lovely flowers in some of the gardens. The colours are so bright after the bleakness of Winter. Everyone has asked how I am coping with the cold Winters and my response has always been that the cold has not been a problem at all as all buildings are well heated, its the darkness that gets to one. The days are now longer and it is still light well after 20h00 so I am a happy camper. The bonus is the beautiful displays of flowers.

Spring in the Netherlands.

The weather is unpredictable so whenever it is sunny and clear, Owen and I go for a walk to check out the progress of Spring in the Netherlands. The trees are still bare but some are beginning so show new leaves and some are already full of blossoms. One of our favourite walks through an avenue of trees showed clearly the changing scenery now that Spring has arrived. It is still puzzling that so few ducks are to be seen but this too is changing as some geese have returned. Owen is learning new words and so he is always happy that some old favourites are still evident on our walks. I am of course referring to the never ending number of bikes, cats, dogs and even a few scooters. he is always very good when we go out and so as a reward gets to ride on the scooter at the shopping center.
